Think you have done a top job here, as many others I had considered something like this based on Full Metal. Love the work into the skills and it's something I could definitely see myself playing. It's a refreshing idea that is not linked to closely to anything else in the game, developers would be crazy not to consider this class seriously....Thanks!

this sounds like a really interesting idea...i like it better than the musket because it still deals with the fantasy theme ~ it makes a twist between a herbalist and ritualist
great stuff.

Time to throw my brian into the melting pot...speaking of which
Melting pot 10 2 30
All Hexs and Enchantments are remvoed from the target (friend or foe) these are replaced by other enchantments/hexes chosen at random. The target losses 0...2 enchantments (if foe) or Hexes(if friend) in the melting pot.
Signet of Disaster 0 1/2 30
Drop all held potions, All near by creatures, allies and Enemies take 10....30 random type damage for each potion held, and are knocked down for 2seconds

i think you are taking this the wrong way with potions. alchemists didn't use potions. alchemy was created by the ancient egyptians as a way to convert common metals into precious ones and was an early form of chemistry. it was done using rituals which points more towrds to FMA thing but it would be limited by not being able to form anything, just change what it's made of. so it would be broken down into almost purely hexes and enchantments.
i support the idea for an alchemist profession but you have to come up with a way of using alchemy offensively to do dmg.

CONJURATION
take 50 iron bars and conjure 10 gold (50% chance with 6 or less in conjuration)
I would love a skill like that
You could have skills that make the enemys weapons become soft material for xx seconds, strenghten allies armour and weapons, rockey ground become lava, throw molten metal that hardens for xx sec after hitting
Nice job, could be a fun proffession to play

Gotta say this You know how Necromancer have "Awaken The Blood" And Eles have "Elemental Attunement" And "Air Attunement" Well Alchemists should have this. Philosiphors Stone: 15, 4, 60 Elite Spell: For 5-30 seconds you have +1...3 Explosive and Healing preparations and Half cast time but 50...34% More recharge time. If you don't like this idea ignore it if you like it add it to the list of skills. Also other possible names could be: Achemical Lore or Philosiphors serum.

I love the idea of the Alchemist! (I always chose the Alchemist and Creator profession in Ragnarök Online)
I also, coincidentally, learned today that we have Alchemists to thank for photos and cameras, not to mention the fundamentals of Chemistry. O.o

There actually is an Alchemist class in Everquest Online Adventures (EQ on Playstation). It was a very fun class, and it sounds very similar to the build you are proposing. The main drawback to it in EQOA was the fact that you had to individually make your potions, pretty much one at a time, and it took a looooooooooooong time to make a full stack. I included two links, one to the EQOA homepage which gives a brief synopsis of them and one to a fan-site that gives a much more thorough breakdown. EQ has a totally different engine and concept than GW, so not posting these for you to compare, just maybe to help with ideas and see how an already built and in use Alchemist works in a MMORPG.
EQOA Hompage:

EQOA Addicts Fansite:
http://eqoaaddicts.com/class/alch.htm
I really do like the idea (even though I would much prefer new races with racial bonuses instead of more new classes) and out of the other propositions I have seen so far, this is definately the best.

i dont think 12 second casts are good i think its better like this: make a potion evry 1½ second up to 2...10 potions this skill is eazy interuptable
so then u didnt waste all the time and get interupted at the last secnd
